Domus: Swatch headquarters by Shigeru Ban

My article presents the new Swatch headquarters in Biel. The project, signed by 2014 Pritzker Prize winner Shigeru Ban, is one of the largest wooden structures in the world and challenges the classic architectural characteristics of office buildings. It looks quite like a concert hall, with very large spaces at the entrance, multiple common areas, and galleries with view on the lower levels. Full text published on Domus. Domus is an architecture and design magazine founded in 1928 by architect Gio Ponti and Barnabite father Giovanni Semeria. Published by Editoriale Domus, the magazine is issued 11 times a year on a monthly basis. Since 2000 it also has a bilingual (Italian+English) online portal with autonomous contents as well as a selection of contents from its paper version.
